“Mancini needs to settle on a back line”
Manchester City have already conceded 20 goals in all competitions this season, so it’s hardly surprising that questions are being raised about their chances of retaining the Premier League crown. Are they good enough to land back-to-back titles? Here, the Guardian’s Dominic Fifield explains why he still sees Roberto Mancini’s men as favourites.
“I think City will challenge for the Premier League, and I still think they will probably win it,” Dominic says. “They haven’t been impressive, but they are still unbeaten. They have lost their defensive stability from last season and that has been exposed, most obviously in Europe. [Mancini] needs to settle on a back line and get that back, because it was the basis of their championship success last year.”
