Rhodes and Terriers wait for better offer than West Ham’s
Jordan Rhodes is regarded by many as the hottest property in the Football League. West Ham certainly think so, says the Daily Express’ Ian Ridley. Not that the Hammers have been able to persuade the League One side to part with their star striker of 27 goals already this season.
“Clearly Jordan Rhodes at Huddersfield is ripping the place up at the moment,” says Ian. But despite West Ham’s sustained interest, Ian believes the Terriers will be able to fend off any offers in this January transfer window. “Huddersfield don’t need to sell. They’re desperate to get up, having got so close, so often. [But] they might be willing to do a deal with a bigger club, say: ‘Leave him with us until the end of the season and we’ll let you have him in the summer’.
“I know West Ham are desperate for him. They keep going back and getting knocked back. And probably Huddersfield will hold out, certainly the player will, for a bigger club. He’s the stand out player at the moment.”
