“Wenger is desperate to make two or three key signings”

Despite a flurry of late signings in the summer transfer window, Arsenal have had a challenging start to the Premier League season. And David Walker of the Sunday Mirror believes that, unusually for Arsène Wenger, the Gunners boss is looking to add several more players in the January transfer window.

“I think Arsenal could be the big, big story of January,” he says. “Wenger has always pointed out that, unless you’re panic-buying, you don’t sign [players] in January. And the intriguing thing is Wenger has instructed his scouts to get out more than they’ve ever done. They’re out there, they’re everywhere at the moment.

“He is desperate to make two or three key signings. Now, whether they can do that [is another matter]. But I think Arsenal will be the place to watch for two or three big signings, if he can get them.”

When was this article written? 4-5 weeks ago?

Im sure they can look at some players, (MVilla and Marvin Martian are my two favorites) but with their recent run I think desperate is more a question of sensationalism rather than anything more concrete.
